Ventoux Madness 2023

Mont Ventoux, the giant of the Provence, obviously needs no introduction. Always looming in the background, the Ventoux is often part of grand-tours (Remember Wout?) and multiple bike-races take place each year. Where Alpe D'Huez is claimed by our Dutchies to be their climb, we Belgians can say the same for the Ventoux. And we believe that every Belgian should at least once in their lifetime climb this beauty (or six times).

What can you expect? 

THU 1 JUN.: Arrival at the accommodation. Getting-to-know-the group-dinner. Setting up the bike.

FRI 2 JUN.: LOOSEN UP THE LEGS - Exploring the région

After a well served breakfast by our performance coach, a shot of caffeine, we are off to explore the region. While doing some up and downs to warm up the leg we enjoy the spectacular views.

SAT 3 JUN.: RECOVER - Take it easy with a coffee-ride and relax next to the pool.

Saturday is all about relaxing and carb-loading for the Big Boy on Sunday. We take the bikes for a spin for a coffee ride around the villages of Vaison-la-Romaine, Gigondas, Séguret and La Roque Alric! So beautiful and quiet! 

After a BIG BIG spaghetti (all you can eat), we go to bed early as we know that tiredness will be our biggest enemy the next day.

SUN 4 JUN.: ATTACK - We go up the Big Boy!

Lights on! After a fueling breakfast we start for a 40K flat warm-up ride. We stop for coffee at the house and then we are OFF... attacking the Big Boy from Bédoin. Our photographer takes breathtaking pictures of your attempt to beat your personal best. After everyone reached her/his goal, we enjoy together a wealthy diner with a good glas of wine, to wrap up the day. 

MON 5 JUN.: RE-COFFEE-RY RIDE.

Maybe the legs will feel a bit sore of yesterday. But the best remedy to get rid of them is to have a proper coffee ride together. We head off to Sault and go up Gorges de la Nesque: a mindblowing climb. Not that hard anyway, so enjoy the views! We continue together around the Big Boy, back to base-camp.

TUE 6 JUN.: ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END...

Last day, maybe a quick easy ride yet in the morning? After lunch we get packing and thank everyone to be around these days. We give our blessings and get on the road back home.
